The Journey children’s ministry staff and our adult volunteers consider it a privilege and a
calling of God to serve children on a weekly basis. It is our desire that each child comes to
know Jesus in a very real way early in their lives and that each child builds a foundation that
will not be shaken. Our mission statement, To partner with parents as they strive to raise
devoted followers of Christ by providing age appropriate experiences, lessons, and resources
describes our purpose and informs every decision we make in regards to children's experiences.
Every Sunday morning we provide the following opportunities for children.
Nursery – (Birth - 12 months) - providing a safe, caring, clean environment for infants
Toddlers – (Age 1) - a safe, clean, toddler friendly environment where active little
ones can move and play.
Toddlers – (Ages 2 - 3) - a safe and clean environment where older toddlers
will experience free play, music and an age appropriate learning activity.
Preschoolers - (Ages 4 - Kindergarten) – a friendly environment that stresses three
key concepts – God Made Me, God Loves Me, and God Wants to be My Friend. Worship time includes
bible stories, action songs, games and crafts. Each month a theme is emphasized through engaging,
hands activities designed for each age group.
KIDMO - (Grades 1 - 3) – a high-energy environment where elementary age children
connect with each other and with the Bible through memorable and relevant activities. Each session
begins with an engaging multimedia experience that focuses on the theme of the day. Students
then break out into grade-specific small groups to discuss the morning’s topic. Each small group
leader is trained to facilitate the discussion and encourages the children to apply these simple life
lessons in practical ways.
Club 456 - (Grades 4 - 6) – hang out in the Club 456 Café before church and then
head into the Club 456 area of the main auditorium for worship. At community time, you will head back to the
café for a lesson designed just for you. If you have questions contact Club 456 leaders
Chad Shepherd or Steve Minor.
