We believe we are called to invest our time, energy and resources in our community, and to share God’s love in a practical way. The Missions Teams organize local and global missions projects, fund raisers and trips.
Serving our community is a vital part of life with Journey. We love to reach out to our local neighborhoods by throwing great block parties for Halloween, hosting free movie nights and giving out balloons at the West Chester Great Pumpkin Fest.
But beyond all these acts of kindness, we partner with Reach Out Lakota. ROL is a non-profit, ecumenical, community-sponsored organization that gives eligible families in West Chester and Liberty Township food and clothing, as well as paper, cleaning, baby, personal care and household items. Journey hosts and supports their annual Christmas Store. To find out more about what Journey is doing in the West Chester and Liberty Township area, email Sharon McGuire.
At Journey, we have committed to a long term investment of our time and money in the developing country of Guatemala. The people of Guatemala live in a different world…literally. Everyday life for many is consumed by poverty, corruption, violence, and little access to food, potable water, medical care, education. By living the example of Jesus, it is possible to make a difference.
In the last few years, we have lost our hearts to the people, espeically the children, of Guatemala. Journey partners with Catalyst Resources International in Guatemala. While on mission trips, we laid tile in a Children’s Center, the only location in the community for children to gather. We have built houses, built chicken coops and installed stoves. We helped refurbish a home for an orphanage and worked on the team houses at Mimi's House. We are honored to be a part of what God is doing in Guatemala. For more information on trips, email Pastor Joe.
Without leaving home, you can change the lives of the people who have touched our church so deeply.
