Mission: It is the mission of BIG student Ministries to inspire students to live big lives. We believe that people often wander through life, never living it to its fullest potential. We believe that a personal relationship with Jesus is vital in order to live this big life we talk about. It is our hope to break the thought process that church and Christianity is all about rules, and instead show that it’s all about relationship. The end goal of BIG student ministries is to guide and teach students how to live a consistent life, at all times striving to imitate Christ in what they say, think and do.

Vision: We envision a student ministry at Journey Church that will draw junior-high and senior-high students into a loving relationship with Jesus Christ through the following:

  • Connecting activities (house parties, ski trips, concerts, etc…)
  • Small groups (meeting in homes or business’ throughout the W.C. area)
  • Weekly worship gatherings @ L.E.H.S.
  • Mission activities (local and national/international mission trips)

BIG Student Ministries Weekly Gathering
Every Sunday at 10:10 a.m.

Every Sunday morning BSM meets for something called "10:10". 10:10 is a worship experience designed with Junior and Senior High students in mind. This means that the games, worship, videos, and teaching are all designed specifically for teenagers. 10:10 happens in the cafeteria every Sunday morning beginning at 10:10 and continues during the adult worship gathering.

Parent Link Newsletter

Parent Link is a monthly publication that is produced to keep parents connected to BIG Student Ministries news & events, as well as current trends, pop culture, and Godly conversation. Parent Link will primarily be available as a digital copy (PDF Document) on the fourth Wednesday of each month. We will be e-mailing Parent Link to the BIG Student Ministry mailing list, as well as making it available for download on the Journey website each month. In addition to this, we will also have a few printed copies available at the information table for those interested.

Student Ministry Small Groups
Spring 2008 Semester

Why Small Groups? Small groups are the ideal place for students to hang out with one another, and build lasting relationships with students and adult leaders. Small groups also create a safe place to ask questions about faith, life and any other challenges students face.

Who are Small Groups for? Small groups are for Journey Church students in grades 6-12. Small groups are also the perfect entry way for students to bring friends, introducing them to BIG Student Ministries.

What do Small Groups look like? Small groups meet once a week, and last for an hour and a half. Small groups are a blast, and include a social time at the beginning, usually consisting of food and/or games. Eventually the group transitions into an organized conversation based around either last weeks 10:10 sermon or a curriculum.

Where and When do Small Groups Meet? Small groups are broken up into age and gender specific groups, and meet in local homes or businesses throughout West Chester & Liberty Township. Groups run from Feb. 10th - April 30th (with a break March 21st - 30th for Spring Break).
